Output Checklist

Color Prints, Posters & Transparencies
The following information will help ensure correct, quality output of your files:

Check Page Setup
Be sure that your file is in proportion to your final output size. If the shape of the page in your file is different from your final output page size, there will be excess white border on two sides.

Support Files
With most applications, if you have placed an image into your slide (i.e. logos, photos, clipart, etc.) you must supply us with those files (tiff, eps, pict, bmp, wnf, etc.) as well as the document file, In most cases the placed image will drop out or image at a low resolution if they are missing. Scans should be in CMYK color for best results. Ideal image resolution if they are missing. Scans should be in CMYK color for best results. Ideal image resolution for imported scans is 200 dpi at final size for Xerox color prints, and 100 to 150 dpi at final size for encad color posters.

Fonts
Macintosh™:
always provide your fonts. If the fonts are Type I Adobe PostScript), please provide both the printer fonts and the screen(suitcase) fonts. TrueType fonts are made up of just on file.

Windows™:
Most Windows files contain TrueType fonts. Always include the fonts you have used when you submit your files for output. You must supply both the .pfb and .pfm files for TrueType fonts.

Live Image Area
The Xerox DocuColor printer generates a margin of approximately 1/8” on all four sides of the page. For a full-bleed 8.5:x11” document to print, we must use 11”x17” paper and trim the image. For full-bleed 11”x17” we must use 12”x18” paper. Some cutting charges may apply. For poster-size banners and prints, the maximum printable area is 59.5” on the shorter dimension.

Color Usage
When using a black background in document, especially one that blends into a photo, be sure to use a 4-color, process black (30% cyan, 30% magenta, 40% yellow, 100% black) instead of monochrome black. This will produce a richer and more saturated black that mixes well. Important Note: When using PMS colors, try to choose colors at 100% density (example: a 20% screen of PMS 300 blue will print as purple!) If you pick a color that prints at 100%, the output color will print more accurately than a screened back version of another Pantone color. Be sure to ask us for a complimentary Pantone‘ color pallette.
